Decker / Drum Thickener
Decker Thickeners consist of a drum that is eccentrically positioned in relation to the vat radius. As a result, there is more clearance on the feed side than on the discharge side. For dewatering, the drum is set to rotate in the direction of the feed. Filtrate is discharged through the outlet of the drum and an outlet connection on the vat head. Adding or removing steel weirs from the overflow wall controls the consistency of discharged pulp. By using Decker Thickener, the pulp is thickened and stored.
